What's Rotring?

Rotring is a company specializing in producing writing tools. They are highly valued for reliability and ergonomy. Architects, artists and students widely use these instruments. Of course, they are pretty common in business offices too.

How did it start?

The Rotring company has been created in 1928 in Germany by herb dealer named Wilhelm Riepe. Aim of this gentleman wasn't modest, however it was simple: Wilhelm wanted to create a perfect writing tool. A first product "Tintenkuli" was very successful due to clever construction. It was a fountain pen with a narrow steel tube instead of a conventional nib. Here's how it does look like:
